Mike just got back from his incredible journey down the Danube River on the Celiac Cruise in Europe. Mike has so much to share, so you will be getting a couple of "super sized" episodes. In Part 1, Mike describes some of his favorite dishes of the trip, which is difficult as there were so many! Mike and Cam also listen back to a series of audio recordings that Mike sent to Cam while he was on his vacation along with extra commentary. It's a magical journey filled with a gluten free Oktoberfest, many helpings of Eggs Benedict, a Gnome museum and so much more! Stay tuned next week for Part 2.

Sam shares his adventures and his many travel highlights including sampling the local cuisine, an amazing safari with a white rhino named Grumpy, and so much more. Sam also talks about how he planned for this big trip and gives his tips for gluten free travelers who want to make the journey to South Africa.

Marilyn Geller, CEO of the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) is back to join Mike and Cam to talk about some of the exciting work that they are doing. Learn more about CDF's recent campaign for their ICureCeliac registry, how you can get involved to help find treatments, and hopefully an eventual cure for celiac disease. As Cam says, become a "Pioneering Patient!" In addition, Marilyn talks about the CDF's efforts to communicate with the FDA to improve their gluten free labeling of products.

Things improve quickly as some hidden gems start to materialize. Cam and his sister Peyton put the NIMA through its paces as the NIMA came through big time for him. Rosie knows both conditions intimately, both as a researcher and therapist and someone who has both autoimmune conditions. Rosie talks about the challenges of living with both, and some of the specific details of managing life successfully with celiac and Type 1 diabetes.

She shares her surprising diagnosis story and her approach to treating patients with celiac disease. While most of us living with celiac disease deal with a level of stress, Rosie helps us understand when stress and anxiety can cross over into disordered eating. Rosie also has type 1 diabetes, so look for next week's podcast where Rosie enlightens us about the challenges for those living with both autoimmune conditions.
